Fast-ed Energy Booster

Low on energy? Need a boost? Just completed a 5-day strict fast from the Fasting Mimicking Program – by Prof. Longo from his new book – https://valterlongo.com/professor-longos-new-book-fasting-cancer/. In summary:

  • His peer-tested research shows that fasting to a certain level causes the removal and recycling of cellular waste and damaged parts, termed autophagy.
  • The fast targets specific big killers – certain cancers, Altz, insulin-resistance among others – to literally cull those cells during the tail end of the fast.
  • Another benefit is that it requires around 400 cals per day of specific types to ensure that the body is not losing muscle.
  • Not to be taken lightly, when driving or HIIT training (found that out the hard way). As always, do your own research and speak to your Doctor, etc…

Days 2 and 4 no fun, needed a nap, the other 3 days were fine. I may never eat powdered soup mix again, or at least any time soon. Expensive and trendy, I lost 4 kgs in 5 days following it strictly, and have now noticed my hunger level is suppressed for the week after. Mind you, first solid food I ate immediately after the fast was a big thick slice of dark moist double chocolate birthday cake! Given the prevalence of genetic and family history, I will be looking at this type of fast once a quarter for longevity purposes. Feeling great after.
